...Urges members to vote PDP in March 18 polls
2nd (r), Chief Daniel Ekiugbo,
ex - officio
The Urhobo Ethnic Nationality Chairman of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, (HOSTCOM), Comr. Andrew Agoyo has inauguarated the Ughelli South local Government Area Chapter of the body, with a charge on the new executive led by Chief Johnbull Ubogu to live up to the peoples' expectations through diligent service.
He also emphasized the need for all HOSTCOM members to cast their votes for Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and other PDP candidates in the March 18 elections, as resolved by the body during the Kwale Town Hall meeting held recently.
He stressed that the decision to support PDP in the elections was to reciprocate the kind gesture of the the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Government towards HOSTCOM in the State.
Swearing-in the new executive; the Chairman in his address congratulated Chief Ubogu for securing an opportunity of second term to display his leadership capability; which may not have been possible in the previous tenure.
He clarified that the decision to return most of the Chair persons; was due to lack of a conducive atmosphere to perform at full capacity in the previous tenure.
This he attributed to circumstances not unconnected with works of saboteurs that virtually hijacked the system.
Comr. Agoyo appealed to all stakeholders to support the Chief Ubogu-led executive, which he said remains the authentic one and duly recognized leadership by the Urhobo Ethnic Nationality, the State and the National leadership of HOSTCOM.
He emphasized, that HOSTCOM remains indivisible despite the vain attempts by some persons to cause division in the body.
This is as he described the purported swearing-in of a parallel executive in Ughelli South recently, as the handiwork of unscrupulous elements who are trying to cling onto power; for the selfish aim of hijacking whatever packages HOSTCOM has in stock for the people.
The Chairman declared that they have failed as the executive led by Chief Ubogu is the authentic HOSTCOM structure, which is duly recognized from National to Local Government Area, and accepted by all stratas of Government and concerned agencies.
Comr. Agoyo said he clearly understand the dynamic rotational system in Ughelli South Council Area, adding; that he was aware it would be the turn of Ewu after Olomu.
He therefore appealed to the people of Ewu to be patient and diligently work with Chief Ubogu with the assurances, that he would hand over the baton of leadership to an Ewu Chairman at the end of his present tenure; which terminates in four years time.
In his acceptance speech; Chief Ubogu thanked all members for giving him another mandate to serve them, and the Chairman, Urhobo Ethnic Nationality for finding time out of his usually crowded schedules, to personally come perform the swearing-in.
Soliciting the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in his determination to move HOSTCOM forward in the locality; Chief Ubogu assured that he would run an open door administration that will ensure all dividends accruing to the body; trickles down to the people in Ughelli South Council Area.
Further, he declared the total support of the Chapter for the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and all PDP Candidates at the March 18 polls.
Towards this; he placed a passionate call to all members of the body both in the uplands and the riverine areas of Ughelli South, to make sure they cast their votes for the PDP; for the overall good of HOSTCOM.
