Victor Osimhen on fire, wins Italian Scudetto with Napoli

Victor Osimhen is certainly on fire winning the scudetto with Napoli. His second half goal pulled the much needed draw for the Naples side against Udinese and was enough to fetch them the title.

Napoli last won the scudetto 33 years ago. That was during the era of Late Diego Armando Maradona who was hero-worshipped in Naples and till date.

The feat thus has made him join the exclusive class of players highly celebrated by Napoli fans who before his arrival from OSC Lille of France, did not see this coming.

With this achievement, it will be difficult for Napoli to allow him  leave by the end of this season. The club will break the bank to keep him especially as they will feature in the Champions League next season.

They got knocked out this year at the quarter finals stage (last eight) which gives the team huge confidence and experience going into next year's competition.

Osimhen scored the equalizing goal at the 52nd-minute after Sandi Lovric gave Udinese a shock lead 13 minutes into the game.

Arguably, the 24 year old who graduated through the rank from his nation's Under - 17 youth team; is currently Nigeria's biggest club player in Europe; from Wolfsburg in Germany to Charleroi in Belgium and to Lille in France, before he bagged the big one in Napoli.

Currently, he remains one of the most beautiful bride in the world of football across Europe; being wooed by top clubs; Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal amongst others interested to have his signature.


No way I’m selling Osimhen this summer – Napoli owner, De Laurentiis


Following Osimhen's outstanding performance for his team so far; Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has reportedly again declared he will not sell his star player in the summer transfer window despite interests from European football giants.

Reacting to the team brilliant performance particularly this season; Aurelio De Laurentiis, has reiterated that he plans to keep most of the stars together for next season, adding that he had also put all modalities in place for a contract extension for coach Luciano Spalletti.

“I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer — no way,” he told Rai.

“I’ve already activated and triggered the option to extend Luciano Spalletti’s contract for next season.”

At 64, Luciano Spalletti, who had previously won the Coppa Italia twice with Roma, has become the oldest manager to win the Serie A.

Meanwhile, Osimhen is on course to becoming the first African player to win the Italian Serie A Golden Boot with 23 goals this campaign.

He has already broken the Samuel Eto's record (21) for the most goals scored by an African Player in a single Serie A season, also George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A with 46 goals.

Osimhen no doubts is currently Nigeria's biggest club player in Europe. From Wolfsburg in Germany to Charleroi in Belgium and to Lille in France, before finally finding himself in Napoli and making waves.

His reaction to the victory


"Dear Napolitans, we don deliver di Scudetto now we feast’’, Osimhen was quoted to had written on his Twitter handle after his goal delivered the prize to his team.

"It's amazing feeling, we had waited so many years for this moment, he told DAZN.

"To deliver this Scudetto to Napolitans is someting we will never ever forget in a hurry, and it will continue to live in our hearts for the rest of our lives."

Meanwhile, the Nigerian stock has  skyrocketed ahead of Pogba in market value.

Osimhen has skyrocketed in popularity, firmly establishing himself as the best-selling collectible of recent times, Soccernet.ng reports.
