On Monday evening, 19 June, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced changes to the composition of the leadership of the Nigerian security agencies; sending all the service chiefs from the Mohammadu Buhari administration on compulsory retirement.
In their place, he appointed new personnels notably capturing all the geo - political zones except the north - central zone.

No doubts, with the new appointments, the Persident has demonstrated the intention of his administration to install a new order of fresh ideals, strategies, effective and positively impactful operations, to confronting national security threats, crimes and criminality.
As it is a deliberate effort to ensuring regional representation, inclusiviness and balance in the leadership positions within the security architecture of Nigeria.
Hence expectedly therefore and hopefully, these appointments would trigger the much needed understanding in the regions, and enhance the desired synergy for better security results for the nation. Also would promote a sense of unity and national cohesion.
