Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Thursday, 24 August, 2023 bade the Benin Arsenal, Bendel Insurance FC farewell in their journey to Algiers for the revised fixture of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary match against ASO Chlef of Algeria, holding today; Saturday.
The Governor believes that Bendel Insurance FC are capable of posting good results away from home when they engage their opponent.
Addressing the team before their departure at the Benin Airport, the Governor urged them to be conscious of the fact that they represent Edo State and Nigeria as they journey to the battle of Algiers.
"I came to the Airport to see you guys and to assure you of Government support. I want you to know that we are behind you.
"I am confident that you will be victorious! I believe you can even perform better than you did in Benin last week Saturday. Go and get the victory!"
He assured the team to have it in mind that something good would be waiting for them when they win.
The Technical Director and head coach of the team, Monday Odigie appreciated the Governor for the visit.
The Coach noted that the Governor's unseizing visit to team and again finding the time out of his busy schedules to see them at the airport means a lot to the club.
He therefore promised that they will not disappoint the Governor and Edo people.
