... Assures it is safe, peaceful!

Ekowe, a fast developing Village in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State is about three minutes drive from the Federal College of Education (Technical) Ekiadolor and five minutes drive from the University of Benin which is the boundary between Ovia North East and Egor Local Government Area.
Ekowe Village bounded by Isiukhukhu, Abumere Villages and NIFOR Palm Oil Plantation respectively, is located in a very serene environment making it everyone's delight for a place to build a home to live in, also to do business.
The Odionwere of Ekowe Village, Pa. Afred Aguanowman Agbontean in a chat with our reporter, said the Village is the up coming Dubai of Edo State, "it is no gain saying, we are seriously working towards that."
He described the unique location and serene environment of the Village as top notch; coupled with the pervading internal peace as an added lure to many a developer who now flocks in to own a space for their own home.
Unlike many Villages in Benin, Ekowe youths do not subscribe to restiveness as they are law abiding; there is nothing like land grabbing, and other related vices which usually scares away potential developers.
Odionwere Agbontaen attributed the rapid growth and development in Ekowe Village to the rugged self help drive by the elders, and people ably led by the Council of elders in collaboration with the youths under the leadership of the Okaighele, Henry Super Edohen.
It is on record that Okaighele Edohen is passionate about the establishment of the necessary social infrastructure to fast track the growth and development taking place in Ekowe today.
This is as he galvanizes the youths to put their energy to positive ventures; hence there is no unnecessary unrest within.
Also, the Okaighele ensures property of respective developers are secured from all forms of encroachment as the notorious activities of land speculators; are not at all tolerated in Ekowe Village.
Looking into the future, the leadership of Ekowe Village under the headship of Odionwere Agbontaen in collaboration with the Edohen led youth group, ensured there are lands reserved for the establishment of various social infrastructure: both primary and secondary schools, health centre for example.
Currently, a market with an abattoir attached are being built and now at about 80 percent completion stage; to be ready for public launching soon.
Speaking about the abattoir, Okaighele Edohen said the idea was muted to enable the people in the locality, have ease of access to their daily need for healthy meat, while also exploring the accompanying opportunity to make money, which it will throw up.
There are 16 Villages after Ekowe and to get to Oluku, the nearest location for their daily need of meat usually poses some challenges in terms of cost of transportation; and the risk of traveling a long distance. "It is certainly stressful!"
Obviously, the provision of an ultra modern abattoir in Ekowe
would save the people, the challenges mentioned, he said.
In the area of security in the Village, it is water tight and the people sleeps with their eyes closed, life and property are secured, no cause for alarm, he asserts.
This prevailing situation is courtesy of the security Network put on ground, by the elders to forestall any eventuality, Okaighele Edohen said.
Assuring that land space for social infrastructure like health centre have been mapped out; the Odionwere and the Okaighele on behalf of the people appeals to the State Government to come to their aid.
Should this dream come to reality, it will be a big relief not only to the people of Ekowe, but surrounding Villages, they said.
Also, they called on the indigenes from the Village to assist financially and otherwise, in making the various social infrastructure earmarked for development, come to actuality.
The Odionwere, Alfred Aguanowman Agbontean appreciated the collaborative efforts of the people so far in the development of the Village, and sued for more cooperation.
He also appreciated the elders for joining him in the administration of the Village, and the Okaighele Edohen led youths for helping to keep the Village always clean, and peaceful urging them, not to derail.
