The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council has set up its 'Situation Room' ahead of next year's Governorship election.
The 'Situation Room' was opened to handle reports that has to do with the 2024 governorship poll in the State and other related State and national issues.
The Leadership of the Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe made the disclosure saying; the creation of the SR had become a necessity to protect politicians and other high important individuals, from falling into the arms of impostors.
Comrade Alenkhe noted with pain that charlatans in recent times have formed the habit of diverting such unsuspecting individuals to obscure locations, in the name of addressing press briefings.
“Edo NUJ Situation Room (SR) has been created by the Council and is open for whoever is in need of its services which is mainly press briefing especially as it relates to the 2024 governorship election and other related State and national issues.
“This concept is a well thought out idea to protect politicians and other high premium individuals from falling into the arms of impostors who may end up not doing the job, in line with the dictates of the journalism creed thereby attracting litigations.”
