IWD: Prince Igbinigie Esq extols virtues of Edo women, hails their resilience

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State, Prince Peter Enosoregbe Uwadiae Igbinigie Esq has extolled the virtues of the Edo woman on the occasion of this year's International Womens Day (IWD), noting they are distinguished by resilience.


Prince Igbinigie Esq who a group of the APC faithful is pushing to be running mate to the Governorship candidate of the Party in the 2024 election, said like every Nigerian woman, the Edo woman has never seized to be a pillar of support not only in the family unit, but also in the larger society.

Igbinigie in a statement he personally signed and availed the media in Benin on Friday, 8 March, 2024 said the theme of this year’s celebration “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress” was apt.

Adding that investment in the women folk was never a wasted venture by any Government as their role in any society can never be ignored.

The campaign theme of the 2024 IWD celebration, “Inspire inclusion” was in line with the philosophy of the APC government not only to fight and protect the rights and privileges of the women folk but ensure they are empowered, he said.

Igbinigie assured that the protection of the rights, privileges, and empowerment of the Edo woman will never be taken for granted under the APC administration in the State.

Felicitating with the women, he stated; "On the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day I wish to heartily join the Edo woman in celebrating excellence and resilience which has continued to distinguish you as beacon of support; both in the family unit and the larger society.

"On behalf of my family, and the entire APC members in Edo State I sincerely wish our women a peaceful and rewarding celebration!"

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement. IWD gives focus to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
