Edo State Chapter of Labour Party (LP) has congratulated all Muslim Umah in the State and Nigeria as a whole for witnessing the new month of Ramadan.
Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, State Chairman of the Party in a press statement described Ramadan as a very important month for Muslims across Edo State in particular and Nigeria at large.
The Party noted that the holy month holds special significance in the Islamic lunar calendar.
“Throughout this month, which is also called Ramzan, people abstain from worldly pleasures, participate in community service acts and consider this period a time of spiritual reflection.”
While stating that the rewards and spiritual blessings in the month of Ramadan cannot be quantified, the Party noted that it equally provides opportunities for Muslims to right the wrongs in their lives.
It enjoined Muslims to use the holy month to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed; and pray for the State and the country in general to overcome its emerging economic and security challenges.
The Party encouraged well-to-do individuals in the society to use the period to support the less-privileged ones, to observe the fasting with ease and have a sense of belonging.
Offering prayers for Muslim faithful, the Party said; "May this Ramadan be a time of reflection, self-discipline, and spiritual growth for you. Ramadan Kareem!”
It added that Ramadan brings the Muslim faithful peace, prosperity, and spiritual fulfilment, with the blessings of Allah, strength, patience and wisdom.
“Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Ramadan filled with joy, harmony, and countless blessings!”
