Nigeria's Falconts

Nigeria’s youth women’s national team, the Falconets, are set to face South Korea in their opening match of the 11th FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Falconets need to start strong as they step onto the field for this highly anticipated fixture.

The match will take place at the 10,000-seat Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogotá, Colombia, where the Falconets will play their first two games. These are high-stakes matches, not for the faint-hearted.

Following the Monday clash against the quick and skilful East Asians, the Falconets will face the reigning champions, Germany, on Wednesday night.

In a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Head Coach Chris Danjuma emphasised that the team’s immediate focus is on the Koreans.

He stated, “We are refining our tactics and techniques to ensure we perform well against the Koreans. That is our top priority. Once we secure a good result against Korea, we will then focus on Germany.

“I am pleased to report that there are no injuries in the camp. The girls are ready to go out there and make Nigeria proud,” Danjuma added in his conversation with thenff.com.
